Granular Computing Session

Soft Computing and Intelligent Systems Conference
(Oct. 21-25, 2002, Tsukuba, Japan)

Recent years saw a rapid growth of interest in so-called granular computing. In a nutshell, granular computing is concerned with representing and processing various information abstractions - information granules. These are collections of entities, usually originating at the numeric level, that are arranged together due to their similarity, functional adjacency, indistinguishability or alike. There are several essential and common factors that underpin all pursuits of information granulation. These are: Contributions relating but not limited to the above are invited for this session.
