Operating Systems for BSP in Real Time Systems.

Paul Anderson

This project aims to investigate the BSP model at the lower, operating systems level, in the real-time applications domain. The purpose is to ascertain the key mechanisms of an operating system that would support the BSP model and to implement such a system on a modern multiprocessor architecture. It is envisaged that applications from real-time domain will be implemented using BSP-based algorithms, and that the performance characteristics of the system will be measured. A particular area of interest is on-going research work, being carried out by the RTTS group, into parallel, real-time graphics algorithms.
